Skateboarding

For a while I wanted to shoot this image. I took off to NYC in the morning to rent some lighting equipment then got home and waited for the light to drop and the skaters to arrive. We then set up the strobes before putting water all over the ground. It was a too hot out for the water on the ground and it was evaporating too quickly. Next time I will be sure to use a tarp. Of course the cops showed up and then the night was over.

Running Death Valley

During my drive through Death Valley I kept seeing spots that would make for some interesting running shots. So I made my travel partner throw on her running gear and get down to business as we chased the light back out of the park into sunset.

The other day I drove from San Diego to Death Valley in search for something to shoot and stay creative before heading off to Mammoth Lakes, Ca. One of these days I will go camp here and wait out the right times of day for shooting but until then sporadic day trips will do just fine.

Homeless in San Fran

After flying back to Cali it was time to go out and start seeing some things so I charged a road trip–couch tour that lasted 12 days with pit stops to all my homies places throughout the state. This image was from the first leg of the trip in San Francisco. Every time I come here I am always amazed by the amount of homeless people who call this city home. While pumping my gas I grabbed my camera and approach this man who had his whole life in his shopping cart. When I first saw his skateboard and his random 20″ bmx wheels I knew I had to speak with him and ask for permission to photograph him. He was super soft spoken and it always rattles my brain on how so many people end up here in the same situation.

Across the Street Bonfire

This image is of Renee and Riana hanging out staying warm in front of the bonfire across the street from my house. We tripled on snowmobiles to hang out with the neighbors and drink some beers over that time we were all shoveling a landing of a jump in for next snow storm. So I decided to capture the girls and the beautiful stars over the dark mountains in Lake Tahoe, Ca.
